Health Guarantee

1. Health Check and Vaccination Status

  • The Dog/Puppy has undergone a thorough veterinary health check before the sale.
  • The Dog/Puppy is up to date on all vaccinations, and a vaccination record will be provided to the Buyer.
  • Documentation will be provided confirming the Dog/Puppy’s current health status, including any known health issues.

2. Genetic Health Guarantee

  • Guarantees the Dog/Puppy against fatal and life-altering congenital diseases that adversely affect the health of the animal. This includes severe hip dysplasia, kidney, heart, pancreas, spine, and liver problems of a severe nature.
  • This guarantee is valid until the Dog/Puppy reaches two years of age.

3. Timeframe for Veterinary Examination

  • The Buyer agrees to have the Dog/Puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of receiving the Dog/Puppy.
  • If the veterinarian finds the Dog/Puppy to be in poor health, the Buyer must inform the Seller within 5 days of the examination. Verification from the veterinarian must be provided.

4. Remedy for Health Issues

  • If, within 10 days after purchase, the dog dies or is determined by a veterinarian to have a contagious, infectious, parasitic illness or becomes clinically ill the Buyer has the following Options.  
    • Return for a complete refund OR
    • Return for a replacement dog of equal value OR
    • Retain the dog and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, not exceeding the purchase price.

  • If, within 30 days of purchase, the dog dies or is determined to have a congenital or hereditary defect which adversely affects the dog the Buyer has the following Options.  
    • Return for a complete refund OR
    • Return for a replacement dog of equal value OR
    • Retain the dog and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, not exceeding the purchase price.

5. Exclusions

  • This Health Guarantee does not cover any health issues due to accidental injury, neglect, or conditions attributable to the Buyer’s care (e.g., obesity, malnutrition, or unsanitary living conditions).
  • Conditions not covered include minor illnesses and health issues such as colds, allergies, internal or external parasites, and conditions deemed common to the breed.

6. Buyer’s Responsibilities

  • The Buyer agrees to maintain the Dog/Puppy’s health with regular veterinary visits, vaccinations, proper nutrition, and a safe living environment.
  • The Buyer acknowledges that failure to adhere to these standards may void this Health Guarantee.

7. Limitation of Guarantee

  • This Health Guarantee is non-transferable and is valid only for the original Buyer.

At Barkeyville Dachshunds, we prioritize the health and well-being of our cherished Dachshunds. Our Primary Veterinarian Clinic is the Slippery Rock Veterinary Hospital.  When we can not get into our SR Vet then we travel down to the Animal General of Cranberry Township.

Our goal when partnering with our dedicated veterinarians is to ensure the optimal care of our furry companions.
